I’ve moved away from the fashionable people drawing and stuck with the historical feel that’s running through my drawings at the moment and started looking at statues and busts. Fortunately for me Manchester Town Hall has lots of local busts which should look interesting in my work!
Finally, the last new addition to my work is looking at Victorian inventions!
I’ve really enjoyed looking at the architecture of Manchester and I discovered that a lot of it is gothic revival from the Victorian era, so after a restless night I began researching into what the Victorians did for us!
I’ve wanted a darker element to my work and I think one way to achieve this macabre feel is through looking at the anatomy of the body.
I’ve developed my pattern work too for this unit! I’ve moved away from rocks and minerals and taken inspiration from architectural drawings, especially Nigel Peakes work!
I’ve started developing my drawings for the second, and final part of the year.
I’ve decided to include a whole range of new bits and pieces, one being flowers!
I’ve been exploring continuous line drawing and using my right hand, I’m quite impressed with the drawings that I’ve been producing! Here are some more complete compositions!
A place to store inspiring images, dynamic designers and also my own work.
I am a textile student at Manchester School of Art. I specialise in print design; I find that my style is dependant on line work and has a graphic/illustrative feel.
Have a look around at some of my design work, and feel free to email me for more information -
